LEGAL & SAFETY

Terms & Conditions

Effective September 8, 2026 · These Terms govern use of the CEN Africa website, network, and services operated by CEN Africa, LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company (“CEN Africa,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Important travel and mission noticeCEN Africa is a connection and information platform. It is not a travel agency, security company, employer, insurer, immigration adviser, emergency-response provider, or guarantor of any person, host, institution, destination, accommodation, or opportunity.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account, submitting a profile or application, posting an opportunity, using CEN Africa resources, or otherwise using the website, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. New account holders must also affirm the CEN Africa Evangelical Statement of Faith as the doctrinal basis for membership. If you do not agree, do not create or use a CEN Africa account.

CEN Africa is an interdenominational evangelical Christian network. Members may differ on secondary doctrinal questions not defined in the Statement of Faith, but CEN Africa may decline, restrict, or discontinue membership when a person or institution rejects or materially acts against the network's stated doctrinal foundation.

If you use CEN Africa for an institution or organization, you represent that you are authorized to act for it. Users under the age of legal majority must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. CEN Africa is not intended for children under 13 to create accounts or submit personal information on their own.

2. Your independent duty of due diligence

Never rely on CEN Africa alone when deciding whether to travel, serve, host, study, work, volunteer, meet someone, or enter into any arrangement. Every user is responsible for making an independent decision based on current information and their own judgment.

Before committing to an overseas or cross-border opportunity, you should independently:

  • verify the identity, authority, reputation, address, leadership, and current operations of the host institution and key contacts;
  • speak directly with the host by live video or other reliable means and, where reasonably possible, speak with former visitors, educators, missionaries, students, local churches, ministry leaders, or independent references who have first-hand experience;
  • review current official travel advisories, security alerts, local laws, entry and exit rules, visa or volunteer/work authorization requirements, health guidance, vaccination requirements, and embassy or consular information;
  • independently confirm lodging, transportation, meals, medical access, communications, safeguarding procedures, emergency plans, costs, insurance, and evacuation options;
  • obtain appropriate travel, medical, evacuation, liability, and other insurance for your circumstances;
  • share your itinerary and emergency contacts with trusted people and maintain your own emergency plan and access to funds;
  • continue checking conditions through departure and during the trip because circumstances can change quickly; and
  • use your own judgment. If information conflicts, a situation changes, or something feels unsafe, coercive, misleading, or inconsistent, pause, investigate further, decline, or leave as appropriate.

A CEN Africa listing, review, badge, verification status, introduction, application match, communication, or prior successful visit by another person is not a promise that a future trip or relationship will be safe or suitable for you.

3. Directory listings, reviews, and verification

CEN Africa may list institutions or opportunities using information supplied by users, institutions, public sources, or other sources. Inclusion in the directory is not an endorsement, accreditation, certification, recommendation, warranty, or guarantee.

“Verified Host,” educator verification, institution verification, reviewed listing, or similar status means only that CEN Africa completed the review steps described by the platform at that time. Reviews are limited in scope, may depend on documents or statements supplied by third parties, and cannot detect every risk, misrepresentation, future change, criminal act, unsafe condition, or local circumstance. Users must still perform their own due diligence.

4. Travel and mission risks; assumption of risk

International and domestic travel, volunteer service, ministry, teaching, lodging with hosts, ground transportation, and cross-cultural work can involve foreseeable and unforeseeable risks, including illness, injury, crime, harassment, abuse, political unrest, terrorism, war, civil disturbance, detention, discrimination, accidents, transportation failures, natural disasters, inadequate medical care, infectious disease, loss of property, financial loss, visa or immigration problems, and death.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, users who choose to travel or participate do so voluntarily and assume the risks associated with their independent decision and activities. CEN Africa does not control foreign governments, hosts, institutions, transportation providers, accommodations, medical providers, other users, or conditions at a destination.

5. CEN Africa is a connector, not a party to your arrangement

Unless CEN Africa expressly states otherwise in a separate signed agreement, CEN Africa is not a party to any employment, volunteer, mission, educational, lodging, transportation, financial, immigration, sponsorship, or other agreement between users and third parties. No agency, employment, partnership, fiduciary, joint-venture, or representative relationship is created merely by use of the website.

Users are responsible for negotiating and documenting their own arrangements, confirming who pays each cost, and obtaining appropriate professional advice.

6. No guarantees

CEN Africa does not guarantee placement, acceptance, admission, employment, volunteer eligibility, visas, work authorization, travel permission, safety, host performance, educator performance, course availability, certificates, academic credit, credit transfer, accreditation, recognition, funding, internet access, housing quality, transportation, or any particular outcome.

Membership in CEN Africa is not accreditation. A listing of an accreditor, school, course provider, ministry, or other organization is not a statement that CEN Africa endorses it or guarantees its status.

7. User responsibilities and truthful information

You must provide accurate, current, non-misleading information and promptly correct material changes. Hosts must accurately disclose accommodations, security conditions, transportation, costs, safeguarding practices, and material risks known to them. Educators and applicants must accurately describe identity, qualifications, experience, availability, and credentials.

You may not impersonate another person, falsify credentials, conceal a material safety concern, misuse private information, harass others, engage in unlawful activity, or use CEN Africa to exploit, recruit, traffic, abuse, or endanger any person.

8. Safeguarding and minors

Organizations and individuals working with minors or vulnerable persons are independently responsible for complying with applicable safeguarding, background-check, reporting, supervision, and child-protection laws and policies. CEN Africa review does not replace a host’s or participant’s legal or ethical safeguarding duties.

9. Third-party websites, courses, and services

CEN Africa may link to third-party websites, course providers, institutions, government resources, payment or communications services, or other platforms. Those services are controlled by their respective operators and may have their own terms, privacy policies, fees, eligibility rules, and risks. CEN Africa is not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, conduct, or decisions.

9A. Free Partner Courses

Free Partner Courses are made available under applicable written agreements without tuition or mandatory CEN Africa learner fees for access, required assessments, or completion. A separate invitation to support CEN Africa may be presented only when authorized, but support is optional and may not restrict course access, progress, assessment, or completion. A Free Partner Course may not be converted into a Paid Partner Course without new written authorization from the rights holder.

9B. Paid Partner Courses and payments

CEN Africa may offer separately identified Paid Partner Courses under written licensing, consignment, sponsorship, commissioning, co-production, or revenue-sharing agreements. Before payment, the course page or checkout will disclose the provider, full price and currency, included services, certificate or academic-credit status, recurring charges if any, and material refund or cancellation terms.

Taxes, currency conversion, payment-processing conditions, course cancellation, partner withdrawal, refunds, and continued access for enrolled learners will be handled according to the disclosed terms and applicable law. Users must not initiate an improper chargeback for a valid disclosed charge and should first use CEN Africa’s published support process to request correction or a refund.

9C. Optional support and tax status

Payments made directly to CEN Africa, LLC, including optional support payments, are not charitable donations and are not tax-deductible charitable contributions. A payment will be described as potentially tax-deductible only when processed through a separately identified qualified charitable organization under that organization’s receipt and disclosures.

10. Intellectual property and user content

CEN Africa branding, original site design, and original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party names, trademarks, course materials, and content remain the property of their owners.

When you submit content for a public profile, listing, application, or other platform function, you represent that you have the right to submit it and grant CEN Africa a non-exclusive license to host, reproduce, format, display, and use it as reasonably necessary to operate and promote the network. Private verification documents are not made public merely because they are submitted for review.

11. Suspension and removal

CEN Africa may review, restrict, suspend, remove, or refuse accounts, profiles, listings, applications, badges, or content when we reasonably believe there is inaccurate information, safety risk, policy violation, legal concern, abuse, or conduct inconsistent with the purpose of the network. We are not obligated to publish or continue publishing any listing.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CENAFRICA AND THE WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. CENAFRICA DOES NOT WARRANT THAT INFORMATION IS COMPLETE, CURRENT, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR SUITABLE FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR THAT ANY USER, HOST, INSTITUTION, EDUCATOR, COURSE, DESTINATION, OR OPPORTUNITY IS SAFE, LEGITIMATE, QUALIFIED, OR APPROPRIATE FOR YOU.

13. Limitation of liability and release

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CENAFRICA, ITS OPERATORS, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, CONTRACTORS, AND REPRESENTATIVES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSSES ARISING FROM A USER’S TRAVEL, HOSTING, VOLUNTEER SERVICE, EMPLOYMENT, EDUCATIONAL DECISIONS, THIRD-PARTY CONDUCT, CRIME, INJURY, ILLNESS, DEATH, PROPERTY LOSS, IMMIGRATION OR VISA ISSUES, OR RELIANCE ON A LISTING OR COMMUNICATION.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release CEN Africa from claims arising out of disputes, acts, omissions, conditions, or arrangements between you and another user, host, institution, educator, service provider, government authority, or other third party, except to the extent liability cannot legally be excluded.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

14. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CEN Africa and its operators, directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, and representatives from third-party claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful conduct, material misrepresentation, violation of these Terms, infringement of another person’s rights, or acts and omissions in connection with an arrangement you make through the platform.

15. Emergencies

CEN Africa is not an emergency-response service and may not see or respond to urgent messages. In an emergency, contact local emergency services, appropriate government authorities, your embassy or consulate, insurer, host emergency contact, and trusted family or ministry contacts as appropriate.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as CEN Africa develops. The effective date will be updated when material changes are published. Continued use after an update may constitute acceptance where permitted by law; when appropriate, we may request renewed affirmative acceptance.

17. Governing law and disputes

Unless mandatory law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Before filing a claim, the parties should make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally. Any court proceeding must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction, subject to applicable law.

18. Entire agreement; severability

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Statement of Faith where membership affirmation applies, and any additional terms expressly accepted for a specific CEN Africa service form the agreement governing website use. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
